Getting home after the 8-9pm freeze Thursday will be the hard part. Then I've got to be back in at 6am, so I can leave Louisville by noon to follow the storm's path up into eastern Michigan. Going to be a fun 24 hours. I'm hoping a lot of people will advance or delay their holiday travel plans, but I'm sure I'll be wrong.

Yeah...stay safe out there friends...here in Wichita there were like 30 wrecks in under an hour when this stuff started moving in, authorities put out a plea to the public to stay off the major roads.
And this was just a VERY light freezing rain that caught people out, mainly on the elevated roadways.

That friggin' wind chill tomorrow is going to be deadly...seriously.

Ours starts tonight around 3AM with flash freezing then snow. Then the subzero temps and -30 or so windchills on friday

And I get to leave my truck outside so my wife can park inside and leave for work at 6:00 without ice on her car. Kids cars are in our other garage as well.

sigh. I’m too nice. LOL

everyone stay safe and warm!

I left my house in Goddard at 5:45pm to get to Bel Aire by 6:30. Kellogg was horrible, 235 was worse. I watched two different people who thought they could still do 50+ slide off the roadway. I went 40ish almost the whole way and still hit a couple patches of ice that caused a bit of a pucker factor.

My guys and I are going to busy all night working accidents, in fact I'm waiting on a tow truck right now.

Blame it all on us Canadians. We are shipping all this cold air down to you as quickly as we can. Part of Global Warming Climate Change.

I'm in northwest indiana so Thursday night into Friday morning will be the worst. I got all back roads into work so hopefully I don't get caught in too much traffic. Hopefully everyone closes down so the people who have to get to work such as public works, first responders, truck and delivery drivers have easy roads!

My truck's done just fine in real cold and snow. All I did to get ready for this week's freeze is top of the windshield washer with the winter stuff, and toss my brush scraper and a blanket in the back.

I packed my Carharts, gloves and hat this morning and forgot my thermos. Got the thermos and forgot everything else. I'll remember them tomorrow.
