The OEM windshield supplier for Ford is PGW which also supplies Safelite. Had the windshield replaced on my old Acura by Safelite and the replacement is a Soundscreen windshield by PGW. So it's safe to say that if you use Safelite you will probably get a OEM replacement windshield.

The upcoming Ford GT is going to have a PGW Gorilla Glass windshield. The same crack resistant glass on smart phones. First time ever used on a car. I'm guessing PGW and Ford is using the GT to test the technology since it will be an extremely limited production vehicle.

Correction, just went outside and checked it says SoundMaster by PGW. Don't know if there is a difference.

I believe Carlite owns "SoundScreen", so you shouldn't have a PGW brand glass that says that.

All my Ford OEM windshields say SoundScreen and Carlite, no PGW.

I replaced my the windshield in my 2010 Platinum and the rain sensing wipers NEVER worked again. The dealer had my truck for over a week and used 3 different windshields and 3 different "technitions" and the sensors to this day don't work.
I did not. but they did ask me if i had any of those options that may have mattered.

I was informed that it was common in Alberta as sand is used in winter on the roads. I took it. Sure enough two days later a stone chipped the windshield and I did notice how many trucks had cracked windshields as I drove around.

Mudflaps are part of the problem, and not filtering the sand is the other. Many of the trucks are also throwing stones after pulling out of construction sites at all times of the year, not just winter/spring. The insurance is a must. It's retarded how often this happens.

Yeah, same as the guy above, ALWAYS get the windshield insurance in Alberta lol

I stand corrected. Thanks for the info.
