Windshield radiation
Has anyone experienced increased heat radiating through their windshield due to sunlight on a newer F150? On a recent road trip (which I did many times in my old 2010) I couldn’t believe how the windshield in my 2019 gave such little protection to the sun. Even with the ac on it was noticeable. I had all the other windows ceramic tinted but the windshield (or dark dash) made it seem like a greenhouse.
I’m not so sure about that. Glass can have coatings that may have been eliminated in recent models as a cost savings. The interior color is light tan (as it was in the ‘10) although the top of the dash is brown. Interested in hearing other owners’ experiences.
I went from a F350 with a tan interior and a dark brown dash to an F150 with a black interior.
Massive difference in heat inside. I had the windshield tinted with 90% Llumar and it made a noticeable difference. And I can’t really tell it’s there.

I had to tint the 2019 moon roof the first week. The 2016 I never needed to, it stayed cool with the shade cover closed.
Never felt heat from windshield in the 2016 either.
2019 is like the windshield is a magnifying glass same with moonroof.
Not sure what Ford changed but it was a horrible decision. I cannot get the windshield tinted here in Texas.
