Windshield Cover
I live in Vermont and get pretty cold and snowy winters. I have no garage.
I would like a windshield cover because the worst part of winter is scraping snow and ice off of the windshield. But don't know if any are big enough and easy enough to use on a daily basis. Any recommendations? I looked through the forums, but didn't find a whole lot (maybe using the wrong words for search).
Oh, and my XLT does not have heated mirrors so if it has mirror covers that would be a bonus.
Thanks.

I bought this one recently:

While it won’t really loop around the mirrors...it does have built in ‘handles’ to hold it snugly from inside, and with the wipers over the bottom, it does hold nicely.

Swapping standard mirrors for towing mirrors is a very popular modification here on the forum. It shouldn’t be hard to find a set on here like I did.
You didn’t say what year your truck was.
FYI... In late 2018, Ford relocated the outdoor temperature sensor from behind the grill to the underside of the right mirror housing. You can see and feel a small “nipple.” If you decide to upgrade your mirrors, just ensure both sets match (with or without the nipple.)
All the best...

I also use the Frost Guard, and it covers most of the windshield. Not perfect, but still works very well. Get the set with mirror covers. It is definitely worth the $.

My F150 is a 2020 XLT supercrew with the standard 300A package. Nice but not a lot of options. It doesn't have a rear defroster at least as far as I can tell.
I haven't had a rear defroster on my older trucks but they were a lot smaller and didn't seem to ice up for some reason.

So my wife got me a Frost Guard for X-Mas. (I got a Sno-Brum too. A little too short for a full size truck--I didn't get the "commercial" version which is apparently sturdier and has a longer handle, but better than using that little sweeper on a normal ice scraper)
The Frost Guard went on easy. It was big enough and actually has plastic poles like a tent running vertically along the edges. This makes it much better than trying to flop a plain old piece of vinyl over the window. It has two sturdy "flanges" that go inside the truck to hold it on and stretchy lines that you can pull over the mirrors. Not sure how it would work in high winds, but no problems so far. This morning I had about 3" of snow on the truck. I easily peeled off the frost guard and the windshield was clear and not iced over. A couple of shakes got almost all of the snow and ice off and I stowed it in the back seat. Maybe I wouldn't like that if I had leather, but since I have the dog platform instead of the seats down, a little wet isn't hurting anything.
The mirror covers easily slide over the (non-tow) mirrors and you can tighten them up. I don't think it was cold enough or icy enough last night that the mirrors would have iced over, but fit good.
All in all, very happy with the Frost Guard and my wife said it wasn't too expensive.
