Window tinting
For those who have tinted the front windshield...do you have any issues at night with reflectivity? A friend of mine had a Tundra a few years ago with the front tinted and at night it was like being in a mirror-ball...VERY distracting, every single dash/interior light was reflected.
Good point here. The rear windows and the back glass come 'darkened' from the factory, but are not tinted to provide any UV protection. They still need to be covered in film to reduce heat and prevent sun fading.
Just tinting the 2 front windows to match the color of the rear is like closing one barn door, and leaving the other open...

All my windows have UV language stamped on them. I forget what my back windows came tinted stock, but I added 20% tint on top of what was there and it comes out to about 6%
For those that did window tint on the pano roof. What tint percent did you use? Its already darkened so does it make sense to put a dark tint on it or just put on clear?
And what is a good ceramic tint? The place I'm looking to have it done has a XPEL XR Ceramic or XPEL XR+ Ceramic. About $50 more for the CR+

I’ve tinted a few vehicles over the years and most states have laws for how dark to tint. I’ve also tinted a sunroof and would recommend both the front windows and the sunroof as it not only helps with temperature control but also helps with blocking uv rays.

question for those tinting the sunroof. when i had a BMW people that tinted the sunroof had issues with the glass exploding from the heat build up, anyone hear about this happening to the F150's?
Has anyone gotten window tinting on their front windows? I have a panoramic sunroof and with all that sunlight getting in I think i'm driving a tanning booth instead of a truck. However, I read that you can only get a very light tint on front windows. Anything more is illegal. It doesn't appear to be worth it to spend 200+ on window tinting that you can barely tell is on.
According to the law, you have the right to tint the windshield only a little because if the level of windshield tinting is high, visibility at night is essentially reduced. You will also get a huge fine for the violation, and you will be required to remove the tint. I used to suffer from high temperatures inside my car too. My wife advised me to buy a sun visor from Snap Shades, and I listened. This visor does a great job of protecting our baby from the sun, and most importantly, it reflects most of the heat, which makes the overall temperature in the cabin lower.
