Default Window tinting

Looking to get my front windows tinted to match the back. There is a guy who works in the same building as Custom Offsets (a site sponsor), though it is technically a different business, and I think that is who I'm going to go with.

My options are Suntek Carbon XP or Edge XP Ultra. I can't find much info. about the Edge XP Ultra, except it is ceramic and the Suntek is (obviously) carbon. I've read ceramic has a little more of a glossy finish.

Cost isn't a big issue either way - about $50 difference installed (Suntek = cheaper).

Any thoughts on either of these? Or better yet, a comparison?

Ceramic blocks heat much better. I used a 35% tint to be legal and it looks great. Not as dark as the back windows but its fine with me. Still need to be able to see at night.

+1 for ceramic film.

I didn't do my truck with ceramic but did my wife's Durango with. Night and day difference.

I tint the fronts and over the factory rear tint as well to get the back a bit darker and the added heat rejection from ceramic.

I’ve been meaning to do the same since tint is now legal for me since moving. If 35% is lighter than the back windows...what does match? Seems like 35 and 20 are the most common tint values, but I would guess 20 is probably darker, but I’m just guessing.

In WA the legal max tint is about 23...I think. I recently had my fronts tinted to the max which almost matches the stock rears. I found that the fronts are now too dark for good visibility under some conditions such as making turns on dimly lite neighborhood streets. This gives me a feeling of free floating anxiety which I find uncomfortable.

20% is darn close...so close that you won't be able to see the difference.

I live in Texas so ceramic is a must, due to the heat reduction. Legal here is 35% so I had my front and back tented to 35% to match. Not sure what part of the country you are in, but if you have real summers go ceramic and thank me later.

Ceramic is a big improvement. I've found 3M Crystalline to be the best so far - that's what I went with on my 2018.

Went with 35 on front two and 5 on rear llumar ceramic- it doesn't have the annoying distortion with polarized shades quite like my 16 did with the 3m film. Anything ceramic over carbon is the way to go, if you wear polarized glasses, put them on and look through one of their test panels.
