Default Wierd sound/rattle just below 2000 rpm 2018 5.0

Hey folks. 2018 5.0 SCREW. Just curious what this sound could be and if any of you have or had a similar noise.

Best way to describe it is-- Accelerating to whatever speed, typically neighborhood speeds, you hit about 2000 rpm, decelerate and you get a rattle type sound for a second or two. Doesnt sound like metal, sounds mechanical, like a valve or something. I replaced the solenoid and valve/hose up at the top of the firewall for the 4WD vacuum thinking those could be it, but nothing changed. They were cheap, about $45.

Its really hard to describe, that scenario is really the only time I hear it, but it happens all the time, and just at that RPM/speed. Nothing else happens other than the sound.

Its just bugging me, thoughts?

I get the same, I've been told it's normal. Same year and engine. Maybe someone else can share some insight on it.

I too hear it in my 2018 5.0. Drives me insane and makes me anxious that something catastrophic is on the horizon of happening to my engine or trans. Just turned over 100k on the engine. Idk I feel like yall I'm sure but not knowledgeable enough to diagnose the sound. I see this issue in one description or another on many forums ftom no real answers to mam this ****s bad...lol anyway good luck yall

Ive had my truck about a year and its made that sound since Ive had it. It doesnt sound horrible, but if I can find where the noise is coming from Id like to fix it, weather it would be a new part, or something else. Problem is, I cant get it to do it when its not moving......

I have about 94k on the truck

Mine too, it's one (or more) of your VCT solenoids.

Had a dealer try and tell me it was "pinging" and running lean since I changed the intake, exhaust and was using 87.
