This should make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside about non pollution during an *** shutdown, while 1700 hypocrites fly in their private jet?

Can't change them, though. All I can do is my own part, and I don't mind doing it. I recycle everything I can. I don't litter. I use Auto Start/Stop. But I'm still not going to replace my F150 with a Prius.

I'm not complaining, as it is easy to turn off. Mine is really inconsistent. It can be -5 degrees out and the cab is super cold. I can drive to the end of my driveway and it will shut off. There is no way it is warmed up already. Then a week later, at the McDonald's drive thru after driving 35 miles, it keeps running with a message that it is disabled due to "Heating/Cooling". Hmmmm

Curious how much it shortens the battery/starter life, and how that stacks up against the fuel costs saved. On the plus side, if they have put in beefier battery and starter like they say then the OEM ones should last a long time

How many of you use or disable it? I'm new to it and I must say I am pleasantly surprised at how responsive and quick it is when I need the power under normal driving. I only have about 30 miles with it so I'm not totally sold yet. I get nervous about not having that instant power when I need it like yesterday. Also wonder how much quicker it will wear out the starter motor. Anyone have any "oh crap" moments?

Why disable it when you can control it?
This thing is wonderful. If you don't want your engine to shut off at traffic light, just apply a light pressure on the brake pedal. And voilà!

Went and read the owners manual again. Too bloody many parameters to be met if it works or not for me to remember. I'm just gonna do as I have, and just press the button.

I'm all for a properly working A S/S. I was primarily concerned about long term wear and tear due to repeated start cycles and if it was prone to any weird glitches that could make it hazardous. I'm new to Ford so I was reaching out for thoughts. Nothing more, nothing less.

I use it and love it. I haven't been 'caught out' yet either- I just drive it as I normally would.
I do rarely turn it off though when in start/stop traffic, but also just take my foot off the brake a bit when I see the traffic moving in front, and it starts again. No problems.
