I just traded my 16 Ram with 30,000 miles for a 2018 Lariat. Really trying hard to love it and it is clearly an upgrade....however in the 1300 miles I have on the F-150 its had more issues then my Ram did(Absolutely none) in the 30,000 miles and almost 3 years I drove it. And the Ram stickered just over $10,000 less then the F-150(47,490 vs 58 and change) Little things in quality control that I did not expect from the F-150 have been popping up also. I discovered after 500 miles that my PCV Valve was not plugged in to the intake tube and just hanging, the medal rod on my adjustable pedals had the retainer fall off the end of it when I noticed a ton of play in the pedal and wiggled it a bit, and yesterday while going up under the truck(daily) to find where a pop and tapping is coming from I noticed the front skid plate had one bolt just hanging there not tightened down in the least.(Didn't fix the noise after tightening) That stuff was never messed with by service so far so its literally factory negligence. Its starting to scare me what else I am going to find, like whatever the source of my popping/tap sound under my feet is. Seriously is this a purchase and build to completion truck?
I have had an 02 silverado for 9 years as my first vehicle and had no issues at all even driving as a teenager would have, I've had the 16 Ram it never gave me trouble, and now the F-150 and quite the bounty of initial hiccups.... I want to love it, I really do

Hey I appreciate that and I do believe the truck is going to be stellar. The engine and tranny are really starting to come around now and the truck rides great. Before I found the PCV unplugged I was very concerned with the response of the engine and tranny but since being plugged back in I am sure the computer has gotten the air fuel mixtures corrected because the truck has really woken up. If I can just figure this damn noise out and fix it then I will be happy as I can be(unless it is coming from the engine) but as of right now its driving me nuts and making for an unpleasant driving experience.

Scheduled Friday, I have tons of videos with clear audio of the noise as I used my cell phone to video all up around my feet and under the dash. But trying to figure it out myself for 2 weeks had me realize how unusual it is. Not affected by wheel speed, not affected by bumps, but sounds like something loose and tapping but again bumps don't matter and its irregular and slow compared to drive speed. Often its one tap after the other spaced out 2-3 seconds then often two times close together, with the occasional 3+ taps close together and alternating volume. Then add in the fact there will be random drives from start to finish with absolutely no noise then park the truck, leave for lunch 4-5 hours later and starts again immediately and the mystery gets stranger. Does it in all conditions and drive selections 4x4 included as well as all climate control turned off. It's sounds like it is in the truck with me or on otherside of firewall can't tell if its audible outside because truck needs to be moving and wind noise is covering it up or again may just not be audible outside. Sometimes the click taps are not as loud sometimes they are quite loud. They come in slow intervals tap......tap........tap tap.....tap.....tap tap tap tap.......tap. I am guessing not going to be a quick find and fix for the techs.

2019 Ram Limited
I just traded my 16 Platinum for a 19 Ram Limited. My truck wasn't bad overall, but it only had 15k miles on it and I was tired of the IWE issues along with the persistent audio off problem. The interior and paint quality crushes my old truck, but time will tell how it holds up over time.

I'm sorry, but those wheels are awful. Maybe OK on a car, but on a truck? Just no.

No matter which manufacturer we buy it will have some sort issues. The big question is what type of issues are you willing to deal with............ Frozen lock, transmission, paint and etc..

about to get rid of my 16' as I am on my third time having IWE issues and also sun roof rattle AGAIN! 49,000 miles on truck otherwise really like the truck just cant stand having the same issue over and over when my truck is my rolling office. having it tied up in the shop even for warranty work cost me time and money! My two trucks before the Ford were Rams and never had issue just routine maintenance

I have a buddy who has had 3 back to back Rams. One 1500, one 2500 gas and no a 2500 diesel. he tows a lot. Has always stuck with Ram because he likes the sales guy at the Fiat dealer. But always says he loves he tech in Ford and would love to have one. This is how strong his brand loyalty is. Wants a Ford but sticks with Ram because.....
Me, my 2018 F150 Lariat 502a 5.0 SCREW is awesome and I wouldnt trade it for anything else...except maybe an F250 in same layout.
