Default Wheel spacer

Okay I've looked for a while now and haven't found what I am looking for. I am running 285/65/20 on the oem 20 inch sport wheels.i want my tires to sit out a little bit but nothing crazy. I also don't want to cut my studs. What are my options? Anyone else have experience with rubbing?

i know if u get 1.5 inch spacers you'll have to trim ur studs. or replace them with shorter ones

unless of course the inside of ur factory wheels have little cutouts inside the back of the wheel in between the stud holes - id check that first
my aftermarket wheels didn't have these spaces but a lot of stock wheels do

You should be able to put as thin as the 1.25" Bora spacers because your factory Sport wheels have the small indentions between the lug holes so that the factory studs sticking out will have somewhere to go - you shouldn't need to trim them down.

You can see what the back side of your wheels looks like on this link - post #11.

Also, there's a video you should watch mentioned in post #8.

Good luck!

Don't say "you know" when you obviously don't. 1.5" spacers the studs are flush with the spacer, 1.25" spacers will have the studs poking out but there should be room on any of the ford 20" wheels in the 2015-2016 models.

Thanks for the knowledge guys! Can anyone confirm for sure if the 1.25 will be okay with the sport wheels with no stud trimming?

Okay and *** for rubbing on crash bars and such.. The smaller I go like 1.25 will have less of a chance rubbing than 1.5 correct? Again I have a 2 inch level with 285/65/20. Thanks

I have 1.5" wheel spacers on 275/65/20 tires and stock 20" wheels with a 2.5" strut spacer. I had rubbing at full turn in reverse on uneven terrain. Nothing terrible but it was there. Normal driving I would never notice. Turning the wheel completely clockwise in reverse while backing into my garage, slight occasional rub. Once the tires get about 10k on them it will probably go away.

I have heard of guys putting 1.5" spacers on a 285/65/20 tire with a 2.5" front level with no rub. I haven't done it, but I've read it. Take that information with a grain of salt.

1.5" spacers will fit your 20" sport wheels without lug trimming, and all Ford 20" wheels have stud pockets behind the wheels, next to the current lug holes. 1.25" spacers will fit without trimming. You can take that to the bank because I helped put 1.25" spacers on a few 2015+ F-150s. Some with the 20" Sport wheels.* Personally, I'd go with 1.5" or I'd just get a rim with a different offset. That's my unsolicited opinion.

* I speak for BORA spacers only. I'm sure Fred Goeske spacers have the same measurements but I'm not going to assume anything with them since I have not worked directly with them.

I haven't done your exact set up (1.5" wheel spacers and 285/65/20 tires) but in my opinion I think you would have rubbing during low speed sharp turns. My reasoning is because the 285 tire is about a half inch wider than my 275 tire. All other things the same; I rubbed.

I thought I read that forum member dubsesd initially put a 2.5 strut spacer on his truck with stock 20s and 285/65/20 BFG KO2s with 1.5" Fred Goeske spacers and didn't rub. Feel free to peruse that forum- it's lengthy.

https://www.f150forum.com/f118/my-20...atinum-283217/

Edit: Correction - dubsesd did a 2" level up front, not 2.5" - he claimed to not have any rub after installing 285/65/20 BFG KO2s and 1.5" Fred Goeske. Specifics start at page 29 of the thread when he installed the wheel spacers. Hope this helps.
