I wouldn’t worry unless you find larger areas wet with oil. It is normal for seals to seep a bit.

On on that note, have you been in deep water with the front of the vehicle lately?

Is there an insurance claim against it? If not, you might want to consider it. Especially if the water has been above the axles.

If it has, you may want to change the fluids in trans, engine, both differentials, transfer case, the brake fluid. Don’t forget to change the front wheel bearings and check the hub actuators. I’m sure there would be a few more things to consider. The steering rack and controller for example.

I drove in from the east coast to help family and haul a big trailer with supplies. I was in water over the axles for sure. My truck didn't flood

I went to change the front diff fluid and noticed the seal problem.

I have changed everything else but the front diff

Sounds good. I would change the front diff fluid as well.

Thanks for the advice. It looks like a good half day to change that pinion bearing out. I'll watch it but definitely will change the fluid tonight.

If it comes out milky, Id change it again after running for a day or so, get the moisture out.

Roger that. So far no fluids have been compromised.

I'd change fluid and brake clean the area around the seal. If the fluid is fine and oil stops showing up, don't worry about it
