The RAM series hasn't had a CD player in their trucks in years. Its a $295 option if you MUST have it.

Default FATHER'S DAY GIFT- Thumb drive mp3 music.

[QUOTE=Robin Rovick;6228792]Thank you for your quick reply. I did see this one and choked on the price. My husband just got this truck from his work and didn't have any say in what was going to be on it. Then we found out the CD player wasn't even an option. I really appreciate your input into this. Not the best week and our only kid is on the other side of the country. I want him to have a nice Father's day and he never asks for anything, so I was trying to do this for him/QUOTE]

In "the days of old" while scrounging Napster, Freegal etc and copying my 50 or so commercial complete CD tunes to mp3, I of course saved a copy of ALL of them to my hard drive in case the CDs got lost, stolen or damaged.
It was easy to later copy all these tunes onto a Thumb drive..have them (878) on a DVD as well..belt AND suspenders😁

I alway keep quite a few CD with mix jams in my vehicles, including an IPod, and use Bluetooth...I like my options.

All of my music isn't on a digital device.

How did I miss this thread? My 13 XLT came with a cd player and to this day has only been used once to see if it actually works, it does and I still have a full case, I forget how many cd's in it. Last time I pulled that case out it was covered with dust almost as old as I am lol. So much easier to just stream music via bluetooth audio or now that I have a much better stereo, via the embedded Pandora app.

Cd's today are like wax 78 records were when I was a kid listening to 8 track tapes. Technology marches on and waits for no man.

I agree. I have Sirius and I don't want to bother with it. I don't want my eyes on the monitor searching for something to listen to. I want my eyes on the road. CD's take less attention to use. They are safer.

I am hoping there is a kit that can be installed that will allow CD player installation. I want my eyes on the road not the monitor looking for music.

USB drivers are even safer. You put all your music on a drive and push that little speak button on your steering wheel and tell it what to play.. Example: play dire straits brothers in arms, or play Elvis and it will find all Elvis. You can fit 60+ albums on a 16gig USB stick.
BTW I'm 60 and trust me its easy, just need a computer.

Yes, I know and have used iTunes and Amazon music for years. I know I can't stop CD players from disappearing. I know I must sound like I'm trying to save 8 track tape players. I like the simplicity of CD’s. There's no copying just insert the disc and it plays. I am dreading copying my CDs to USB drives despite the fact I work with USB drives all day at work. I am still considering Frankensteining a CD player into my dash. But I suspect that may be a bad idea.
