What does the SYNC 3.0 upgrade do?

I tried to do the download today, the truck was connected to my home WiFi and when I did a scan for updates,, the scanning thing just stayed on the screen and the little thinking circle would flash every 3-5 seconds. After waiting about 3 mins for something to happen, which never did, I took the key out of the truck and the screen was black, but I could see the outline of the words on the screen in white??? so I hade to open the door to get the screen to go off completely but as soon a I turned the truck back on it was in the menu screen but again black with white outlines of the words, like Phone, settings, and the other tab options that our on the scree. So I just left it until I had to go to work and about every 4-5 mins a message would pop up telling me my phone lost connection and that is having troubles keeping the connection??? But then it would connect back up.....any help with this?

If it's an iPhone the only text you will see are the ones that come in when the phone is linked. After you shut the truck off and come back you will no longer see those text either. At least that's how mine has always worked.
