For me, in flat Houston. I like the throttle response & downshifting in Sport mode, but want to be able to get 6th gear at 50mph like normal mode. Most of my commute is city streets between 45-50mph.
Personally not in a huge rush on a tune, but it'll happen eventually.

If the 2.7 has inherently better fuel economy, then the shift algorithms might be different. Obviously Ford's chasing EPA ratings with the 3.5EB, and squelching performance under normal conditions to get them.

I do feel that the updated tunes that had the “max” throttle tip-in made a noticeable difference in responsiveness. Have you requested those updated tunes to see if that helps at all? I run the 91 stage 1 tow tune 90% of the time.
Last I checked with Anthony, he said I was running the (then) latest version. This was a few months back (Sept-ish) though, so maybe it's been updated since. I've not heard anything about the "throttle tip-in" until this thread.

Even so, and relating this back to the OP, I'd like to see an updated tune with focus specifically on shift mapping. Honestly, that's the one area the 2015-2016 falls shortest ... and from what I've read, the 10-spd is heavily biased toward efficiency in Normal mode as well (no surprise) so I'm curious how much of a difference the extra cogs make in terms of real world drivability.

As far as knock goes, I definitely don’t have any audible knock or ping. That’s concerning to hear. Are you using a monitoring tool? I would definitely be in touch w/ LMS if you are running into that issue.
Yah, I swapped plugs using the pre-gapped units supplied by Livernois. My concern here is that the Ford dealer didn't do the work (claimed the labor, but without swapping parts) or they ****ed with the gapping on the supplied plugs even though I was very specific about them being pre-gapped and ready for install (including a sticky on the box that read "Pre-gapped; Do Not Gap." I'm usually not that cynical, but I also can't confirm the work was actually performed (OE plugs not supplied back to me, despite that request) and it really shouldn't knock otherwise.

Yeah, I would ask Anthony if you're running the version of the tunes that make all three modes feel like sport mode. That was how he described it to me when we discussed it. Good luck!

How does one do that? I think I'm running a 1+ year old tune. If you've made improvements... I want!!!

You can get that handled by going to our website and sending the info listed on the "Tune Update Request" form to tuning@livernoismotorsports.com.
The turn around is usually 24-48hrs from the submission to you receiving the tune. There are exceptions to this rule, which can include but not limited to large influxes of tune requests, or special tune cases.

I dont know about you guys but I always lock out 6th gear and drive in sport mode all the time. I dont feel its too agressive and its just perfect.

Even on the expressway @70 i still lock out 6th. I have 3.31 gears so i at 2k rpm in 5th. Makes the truck more responsive.

So are you guys currently doing R&D on the '17 3.5eb or have you not even touched it yet? Very anxious to see what it can do, the outcome will be the deciding factor of whether or not I will be buying one.

Thanks. I finally got around to filling out the info, checking the ECU and SW codes from the truck and sent the form in.
Livernois has been super easy to work with and after owning several modified SC & TT vehicles in the past, this is the CHEAPEST ~100hp that I've ever added to a vehicle. I strongly recommend Livernois!
Finally, can you reveal what's been updated in the latest code/tune revision?
Thanks again!
