That's a quick connect fitting, and you won't want to run your truck for very long without fixing that, since you're now pulling in some unfiltered air.

You may be able to repair that without replacing the whole pipe. Check out this link. Or it may be the perfect excuse for the Roush Intake.

Really, I thought it would just pop out and install a new one.

They make some plastic epoxy, available at auto stores that works remarkable well. I'd certainly try that first.

Or a plastic welder. I picked one up cheap at Canadian Tire a year ago and was pretty amazed at what it can do.

By any chance fo you have a link?

To the OP: My first thought was JB Weld for plastic, too like SpencerPJ mentioned.

I broke the same fitting on my truck a couple of years ago. Order a new one and replaced it all, think it was about $85

Is that the return air for the emissions system? If so, not surprised if you get codes for it running lean.

A similar hose on my 2000 Focus used to develop holes because it was rubber and up against a hot engine part. Cost me $25 every 3 months or so until I sold that car after having it for 6 years.
