I've been looking to trade-in my truck, recently. Every time I enter my VIN in a website, it comes up as an XL. It's an XLT. This even happened at a dealership when we started talking numbers. I'm concerned that this is going to cause my truck to be devalued. Is there a way to get this fixed? Thanks!
Additionally, I custom ordered and took delivery of this truck when it was brand new. I am the only owner.

 

Do you stil have the window sticker or can you get a copy?

If the dealer searched it then its pretty much confirmed unless you get a 3rd opinion at another dealer.

Internet searches are sometimes hit and miss.

 

Get your own Monroney Label (window sticker) here. That will tell you for sure. Its like $10.

Post the vin, if there is a digital carfax copy online (IE on a dealer website) it'll have the window sticker attached.

 

Mine does that too. It's a King Ranch, but Carfax and everywhere else I enter the VIN think it's a Lariat. Meh. It's got the KR interior, and the KR badges, and I have the window sticker.

 

My guess, your local BMV has entered it wrong on the Title. That is where I would start. Good luck!

 

I ran into the same issue and couldn't get it resolved. Mine is an XLT and was coming up as a Lariet. I was wondering if they had variety on line when mine was ordered. It took 10 years but they finally got it right. Good luck

At least yours was showing a higher model! You could probably eke out another couple grand on trade because of it, LOL!

 

I don't think it's the DMV. I remember once, looking up my info some years ago, when I lived in New York and remember it came up as an XL then. I didn't think much of it, because I wasn't thinking about trading it any time soon. I figured it was a glitch, and would get sorted out down the line. Now that I live in Arizona, the same thing is happening. I'm sure there is some database where all this info comes from, so I was thinking that maybe I need to call Ford Customer Care.
