Weird issue when using seek up/down on steering column
Hi all, trying to troubleshoot a weird issue in my 2017 F-150 Platinum. I usually listen to Apple Music on my iphone plugged into USB.
If I want to advance to the next track, and if I press the seek up Arrow on the steering column, the song always repeats ( I have confirmed the repeat button is off on the iphone and on the dash screen)
But if I hit the seek up button on the dash bezel (below the screen), it advances fine.
I also notice that if I hit the M button ( media) on the steering column, the song advances fine to the next track ( it does not toggle media like it should) Am I missing something? I looked in the manuals for advice, but could not find anything.

That is really odd, I wouldn't think the contacts could be that dirty already on a 2017 (or ever, really). Pushing one button and it performing the function of another button would be almost physically impossible unless the wiring is intermittently crossed somehow.
With newer CAN bus trucks I wouldn't surprised if signals get wonky in the computers. I'm a musician and use a MIDI setup and sometimes (rarely) the system gets a phantom signal from a note on the keyboard that I'm not pressing. Sounds great performing live. I have a kill switch override programmed to a controller that kills all MIDI signals that I can trigger as soon as I hear the errant note.
I'd keep an eye on it especially if you are still in warranty.

I am going to try a different phone next to see if anything changes.
Its is your control keys on the steering wheel. Probably dirty between contract points underneath . Had the same issue. What I did was tap the controls a few time, a hard tap, and problem went away. Has not acted up since. Crossing my fingers as I type.
Also, this will also occur with any radio operation using the steering wheel control. Try it. Mine would increase volume when change stations. LOL.

I have been having the same problem, to the point i replaced the switch pack and a day later the problem started again. Now i just use the buttons under the screen. I have noticed when the internal truck temp is cooler they seem to work fine.
