Default Weird Clunk

I have a 2016 xlt 5.0 3.31 regular axle 4x4 with 2500 miles one it and for some reason when I am do a rolling stop or anytime I press the accelerator around 5mph i get a little pause, then a clunk like the clutch is actually engaging and then the truck goes. The weird thing is that this does not happen when I come to a full stop. I was wondering if anyone has any thoughts or experiencing the same thing, I am taking it into the shop early next week! Other than this love the truck so would love to get this problem solved!!

My truck does the same thing, and I'm assuming it's normal. There is always going to be some gear lash, and there is a bit more with 4x4 vehicles because it is the sum of the lash in the transmission, transfer case, and rear differential.

My previous truck ('95 Chevy 4x4 w/ manual trans) had a HUGE amount of lash and would clank loudly with deceleration and acceleration. Complained, and dealer checked lash in rear end and declared it within specs. Had to live with it. Curious to know if others notice what you (we) describe, too. Please let us know what the dealer says.

mine does the same, i thought i had read somewhere about pulling the drive shaft and greasing the slip yoke, not sure if that would help or not.

Or take it back to your dealer and get it done under warranty...

You could. Only to have them put a drop of grease on. Just so the problem can come back in 5000 km.

I had my dealer do mine every 5000 km on my 2011. The clunk always came back. They did the "fix" about 6 times. Dropped it myself and FILLED it with grease, then drove another 136,000 km clunk free.

Just saying.

Fords have been doing this for a while. My old Bronco did this. Pretty common problem. I'd agree with above posters that it's a heavy grease fix.
