Default That was Weird!!!!

To start this off I have a 2018 XL SuperCab 4x4 with the 2.7 Ecoboost and 3.55 gears. Only 750 miles on her. This evening I went to the local Walmart to grab some grub. I went in locked the truck like normal with the FOB. Horn honks so nothing weird. I come back out after 30 mins and the truck is completely dead. The FOB is dead as well. I unlocked the driver’s door with the key and load my stuff then call Ford Roadside Assistance. They assign some local tow company to come jump the truck. I even tried to start the truck with the key and it was still completely dead. I was sitting for maybe 5 more minutes than the dash lights flash once then the interior light comes on. Then I try the key again and the truck starts right up with no issues or dash warning lights.

This seems weird but do the F-150's have an anti-theft system that disables the truck if someone tries an unauthorized entry? The reason I ask is that the truck came back to life like nothing was wrong so I don't believe that it's mechanical in nature. Have any of you guys had something like this happen. I'm new to Ford so I'm still learning the platform. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Tony

I would open the hood and check your battery wires. I don't know if the alarm system would kill everything.

You might also check to see if every fuse is pushed in all the way. I found a few loose on mine.

Thanks for the suggestion guys. I did the cables for the battery and they were all fine. I checked the fuses as well they were all seated but I did makes sure they were all in there correct. I also had the quick lane service department at my dealership have s look and they checked the battery and charging systems as well and all were good. I have an appointment at the service department at the dealership to run a full diagnostics on the truck this week. Right now she's running great and no other issues. Really hoping that this is a fluke and not a reoccurring pattern. I'll keep you guys posted after the dealership does the full test on the truck.

No names for this one yet! I hope the ghosts are nice to me on this one! Although a truck like Christine would come in handy some times!

My dads 08 had a kill switch the dealer didn't tell us about. He was doing some maintenance and disconnected the negative terminal, next thing you know the alarm is going off and the truck wouldn't start. Had to have it towed to the dealer. Turns out Galpin Ford had installed an alarm and didn't pass it on.
