I usually put a large cooler filled with ice and beer in the bed during winter. Then I drive to the beach because we don't have to worry about winter weather in SW Florida.

It adds about 400 lbs. It holds about 50 gallons of water. You can haul up to 500 lbs. (227 kg) on top of ShurTrax. (Take care not to puncture the vinyl, or add a sheet of plywood and just load up.) When you don’t need the extra weight, simply drain your ShurTrax grabber and fold/roll it for easy storage.

You aren't draining that thing in the middle of winter here in Colorado most years. It becomes a 500 pound immovable object unless you have a well heated garage.

uhm hmm.

well I'm in the midsouth and we normally don't get snow but do get pack ice. yeah My F150 is a 2wd only non-elocker setup. SO last year I put 150 lbs of sand in the back via 6-50lbs sand bags. It's helped alot with wet road takeoff and any other issues. Also rides a touch better in general so I've left it back there.

Only time I take it out is when I need the space. SO rarely. Doesn't seem to bother the fuel mpg at all either.

I have the Ford bed divider. Put it in the farthest back position and chuck a couple of bags of sand back there

That's why most of us chose 4x4 . In my case, I'd just put it in A4, and like somebody else said, have the tank full (about 237 lbs), and call it a day.

I've seen that, but I don't think I'd want something that was completely immovable in the dead of winter. At least you can take out or move 50 lb bags of sand if you need that bed floor. We've had times here in February where the temperature didn't go over 20 degrees for 2 weeks.

50 gal @ 8.33 pounds/gal = 416 pound, yes that would be heavy to move filled with water!

5 /60# bags of sand. Yes, 4X4, ELD, and junk Handycaca AT/M tires. I usually drive my RWD Ranger with LSD, DuraTracs, and about 300# in the back.
