Does anyone know if you need the new USB module used for Apple Carplay? I have a 2016 with what I believe is the older module because Carplay does not work, but curious if I need it for Waze?

I have a 2016 without the Apple CarPlay USB module and Waze works for me. I just installed the app and hooked it up to the USB port and it worked.

Mine worked once I went into CarPlay on the phone and deleted "sync"

yeah i had carplay turned off but the phone still had sync stored. there is a button to "forget"

I didn’t think that it would work either. I actually ordered the USB module thinking that I would need it but apparently it’s not necessary.
