Is there a way to disable the horn honk when I hit the lock button on the remote twice? IIRC when you hit the lock button twice it enables the security system?
The horn honk activates the alarm thing I remember people saying back in the late 90s when the horn honk started to show up on vehicles, but it is absolutely not true unless you have an aftermarket system and it was designed as such.
From that pesky owners manual:
"Arming the Alarm
The alarm is ready to arm when there is not a key in the ignition. Lock your vehicle using the remote control or keyless entry keypad. You can also lock your vehicle using the lock sensor on the exterior door handle if your vehicle is equipped with intelligent access. See Locking and Unlocking.
The direction indicators flash once after you lock your vehicle. This indicates the alarm is in the pre-armed mode. It fully arms after 20 seconds."
As for the horn sound:
"Locking the Vehicle
Press the button to lock all doors. The direction indicators flash.
Press the button again within three seconds to confirm that all the doors are closed. The doors lock again, the horn sounds and the direction indicators flash if all the doors are closed."
So all you would be doing with Forscan is disabling a feature that you can simply just not use by only hitting it once.

Thanks, I have an XLT with the passive alarm only. I was asking because the horn on my '19 is loud as hell and I usually get out and walk in front of the truck while locking it. My '13 I had to hit the button twice to arm the system, old habits are hard to break.
On another issue, the remote start on my key only works if I hit the lock button first.

The horn never sounds.
Funny timing, A coworker last week was talking abut his noisy horn to lock the vehicle. He too thought it required 2 lock presses to enable the alarm.
So question to the group:
In lieu of the Panic Alarm, Ford recommends another way to 'locate' your vehicle. It must be 2 presses of the unlock button to sound the horn? I'd assume it will emit the double honk sound to identify the vehicle location. However, this double honk option may be from 'locking' the door twice to sound the horn.
Edit: found the info in the Owners Manual.
