water leak in cab
#32
Anyone have a leak and not found it? I hear a sloshing sound coming from the back of my screw, no wet spots. At first I thought it was a couple bottles of water under the seat. But I have since cleaned out the truck and still get this sloshing sound when I go over bumps or coming to a stop.

I think its the cable below the booster, on the engine side. That's what they told me over the phone. Since it didn't fix the leak, I forgot to ask more about it. Picked up my truck last night. They replaced the windshield. There was a gap in the sealant from the factory. We're not expecting rain for the next 3 days, so I'll post an update after that. Now to install my Tonneau cover and bed extender now that I have my truck back. When you've owned it for 3 weeks today, and its been at the dealership for over half the time... you get the picture.

My 1999 F150 developed a leak, a bad one after 18 years. It was the windshield. The 98 to 2003 models had a TSB on that era of cars. Sounds like another era of F150s will have this issue.... I had the windshield replaced as the shops around here said they can NOT guarantee the windshield otherwise. If they are just adding sealant on the edge, imo it will not last.
before they replaced the windshield, the window shop did a leak test. Bubble solution and high pressure air showed definite leak. After replacement the tech said the window was only being held on in 4 spots...
water if getting into the fusebox and GEM will cause irrational electrical operation and some have reported engine shutoff while on the highway....... do a search on leaky windshields in this forum.....bummer.....
Man, I was kinda ticked off after 18 years... I was thinking about buying a new F150 but if this is happening on new trucks, they just lost me...
Good luck.
