Default Warning Chimes Relocated

Ok, I did try to search but I can't fid just the right search term...

Today my warning chimes started coming from behind the dash instead of through the speakers. Happens for "key in, door open," "lights on, engine off, door open" and the beeps when reversing if there's an object behind me. (On this last they get faster as I get closer, but when they were through the speakers it would go to a solid tone. This doesn't happen, now, just beeps fast.)

I tried the power button plus |>| button and it says "Sync request transmitted" but nothing changes. I tried shutting the truck down for a couple hours, no change.

The radio works fine. I've done nothing in FORscan for months nor made any other mods. Just daily driving.

What do I do to get things back to normal?

Mine does that from time to time. It's a typical computer... retry, reboot, reformat. I've had one oddity that was bad enough that I pulled the ground clamp off for a minute... when the truck booted back up, it was fine.

Ugh, haven't tried pulling battery power yet because I wanted to avoid having it re-learn the fuel profile, transmission profile, etc. But maybe I'll have to. If this is acting up maybe something else might be too.

It happens, not so bad. No need to reboot anything. Every now and then it happens to mine and I also get the screen for 360 cameras but I don't have that. It goes away. Thanks Ford.

Mine does it as well. Usually next time it is ok. Has gone on for several days before. I always assumed it was a loose connection somewhere.

Mine was in a funk and started doing that and didn't revert back on it's own. I used forscan and rebooted any modules that sounded radio/audio related and the instrument cluster. After reboot, it worked normally.

Mine has been doing that off and on. I am also getting a system off to conserve battery message on touch screen.

The sounds through the speakers are produced by the APIM. If the APIM has not turned on or gone to sleep the sound will be produced by the instrument cluster module, think of it as the back up. I usually experience this if I leave the key in the ignition after turning it off then when I open the door the chime comes from the IC. But as soon as the ignition is turned on the sound plays through the speaker.

Your battery is on it’s last legs.

I used Forscan and disabled all of the annoying chimes. problem solved.

The few chimes that you can't disable can be forwarded to the internal IPC Speaker. Such as truck out of park with the driver door open.
