Keep over length in mind. A Screw with 6.5' bed may not allow you to get past it to other side (too long) when parked in your garage, if you are setup that way. Scab suicide doors are a little weird, yeah. All depends on what works for you.

Yea I am figuring holdback to be about 1,300. I'm trying to figure out if they are counting the holdback in the "savings" listed on their site of $3,484

seems really high considering I have OTD quote much lower already

I have to fully agree on this one. Do ya think they would be building these mega showrooms and have 100+ vehicles on the lot if they were losing money on the vehicles...? Nah.... .

Default Scab for me

It should be noted I only have a single little one so parents with a bunch of kids will likely think differently.
What he said.

Also the price you are being quoted is fair, but not awesome. Look for $4-5 K below invoice goal after all considerations. Get quotes from various dealers and ask for competitive quotes.

A fair dealer should show you Holdback. For reference, sticker on mine was $42K they showed me Holdback as 1500.

Thanks.
what is your guys opinion on Labor Day coming up? Thinking about seriously starting to shop this weekend. Or am I better off waiting until Labor Day, in other words historically does ford have good Labor Day sales(better than what’s already out there)

If they're still up around $37,750 let it sit some more.

If you find a killer deal on a truck somewhere and can get the price they're willing to sell it to you in writing, you can use that to leverage a great deal on the real truck you want at another dealership too. Especially if it's a nearby competing dealership.

The SCAB will be easier to swing a deal one because everybody wants the SCREW since it carries passengers better and is easier to open the doors at the mall. But if you'd rather use it more like a truck than a passenger vehicle, the SCAB is the way to go. I doubt I could fit a bear in the back of the SCREW without it hanging off the tailgate.
Thanks for that. How did you come up with that offer 36,250? I’d like to have the formula you used in my head while I’m dealing with these people.

No dealer is going to discount 4-5k under their invoice cost as the dealer price before before any Ford Incentives i.e. Factory Incentives/Discounts//Rebates. My s-cab stickered @ $ 42,395 in the blue box. Dealer discounted it to 39,114 before all factory incentives. I qualified for $6750 in rebates (June 2019). Total of $10031 off sticker msrp. $32,364 final price not including sales tax, $150 prep and doc fee, and $1.25 "tire fee" whatever that is. I traded a 2009 Subaru Forester 5-speed manual transmission base model for which I was given kbb good cond value @ $6100.

Where I screwed up was I didn't know about PCO's (private cash offers) from Ford. I'd not received any in the mail but I didn't know to call Ford customer center and ask if there were any pco's in my name. But $10K off sticker is still a fair deal I suppose. Didn't own a Ford before so may not have been in their system for pco's anyhow.

Given that this was last month, I would expect the OP should be able to find similar level of dealer discounting and factory incentives on the truck he seeks when the Labor Day sales begin. Correct me if wrong but Ford has or is very soon stopped 2019 builds and is building 2020's now, so what's in dealer stock as model yr 2019's has to be moved asap?

I think its funny seeing so many say, you need a crew if you have kids. My dad had an ext cab ranger with two kids. Somehow we managed lol.

I am with the OP, super cab is my preference for the same reasons. Looks and size. I prefer the 6.5ft bed over a crew cab and if I got a crew with the 6.5 bed it wouldn’t fit in my garage with room to get around it.

My opinion is if you are in no big hurry, wait it out until you find what you want at a price you are happy with. With that being said, for me anyway, what is your time worth? Is it worth looking online or calling dealers for weeks on end to save how much? If you are saving a couple grand fine, but $500? To me just buy at your local dealer as long as you are happy with their service and move on.
