Default VisionX lighting

Has anyone put any type of auxiliary lighting in front of the intercooler on the 2015 f150 ecoboost? I was thinking about taking the shutters out to keep air always going to the intercooler any thoughts?

Personally, I would not want to eliminate the technology/ability of the truck to come up to ideal operating temp or for them to not be able to partially close at highway speeds when them being wide open is not required Keep in mind that the trans fluid coming up to ideal temp quicker is a good thing as well.

Do you think I could put the lights in but leave the shutters alone?

I am not sure. But myself would not eliminate the shutter function. But more so than that would not block the intercooler all the time for them. I am a modder, but totally not a fan of modding to decrease performance elsewhere

I installed two small 18W led work lights in between the slats of my grill. I have the wiring zip tied to vertical portions of the grill. Nothing interferes with the shutters operation. Granted my lights are small compared to some mammoth light bars. I have mine set up to strobe or stay fully on. They are not angled down enough (not much adjustment with the tight fit) so I treat them as high beams, and off they go in the city or when traffic approaches in the country.

I've had no issues whatsoever.
