I had issues with VIN not registered when I went to buy the truck from the dealer. The dealer site shows it, I registered as owner of the truck with that VIN on ford.com. However before I even purchased it the VIN didn't show up as inventory available on ford site its also not recognized in NHTSA.

Just wondering if anyone knows why the error would happen and should I be concerned down the road? Even the sales guy wasn't sure why it wasn't showing up when I went to buy it and he went to talk to the manager at the dealer since he hadn't seen that, it showed as available to buy but not through ford.com. It appeared as though he had a few years working there with awards from previous years for excellent salesman. Something like they were trying to keep that one on the lot since it was a special build, but I find nothing out of the normal.

302A, tailgate step, 36gal, reg. 4x4 xlt crew cab, spotlight mirrors 3.55axle 2.7L column shift.

Hadn't had the chance to call ford as NHTSA says to do only bought it new years eve. Even window sticker says not released trying to lookup online does the sticker disappear? I'm more concerned down the road I won't know about TSB's or recalls if its not showing I mean they switch out parts so much without notice

 

You might try this VIN Decoder, to see if something is screwed up with the VIN.

Did you get tags and a title issued? What about when you bought insurance?

 

I got copy of the title to get tags and got insurance on it. VIN 1FTEW1EP9FKF14720

I can only hope...lol I don't know if I should expect a trouble free truck or should I expect it to be a pain to get service for to figure out if updates/repairs/TSB's that needs done. A bit confused build date not right according to sticker. March 11??? I thought the 2 2015 10 31 7891 meant 10/31/2015 spaces I added in the number where I got 10/31. That's according to ETIS.ford site build of mar. 11th. My number I got following other threads of how to read stickers in the door. ETIS also reads heavy duty trailer towing, wonder why brake controller wasn't installed. I do have the AUX cooler on the truck.

 

I looked it up in PTS and it is valid, even shows the warranty start date of 12/31/15. You won't have any issues.
