Thanks...really exciting video.

I had a question regarding tailgate assist. If you order tailgate step do you get tailgate assist? The Ford documentation is a little sketchy on this.

So, is this something you add because you don't have tailgate assist or is someone trying to get me to replace my OEM tailgate assist with DEEZEE tailgate assist so my tailgate drops with a more dramatic effect (aka more slowly)?

Either I would say. Just not sure there's enough of a difference to swap if you have OEM. I didn't have OEM so it made send to add one.

If you dont have the tailgate assist the DeeZee is easier to install. I installed the OEM because I wanted everything to look factory and its kind of a pain. You have to remove the tailgate and a tail light. etc...

Yeah, I don't get it. One of them drops too slowly? #FirstWorldProblems

My 16 XLT with the step did not come with the assist. I added the deezee and couldn't be happier

I had the DeeZee on my 2012 and it was very slow when temps were below freezing. Not a big deal but I prefer the oem tailgate assist that's on my 2017.

That's what I kind of though too. This is what the online Ford configurator says, guess I'll find out when it comes in.
