Vibration while decelerating

I haven't notice any vibration, I have the telescope pulled all the way out and the wheel tipped down and the power chair adjusted accordingly. Maybe that will help some. I drive with both hands on the wheel, arms stretched out comfortably 100% of the time. Absolutely not like a NASCAR driver.

It's really only on our newer roads believe it or not. Older roads don't do it as severe and isn't nearly as noticeable.

Our newer Asphalt roads are a lot more rougher, with larger stone, less tar and has a more pebbled surface. Some even have waves in them as they weren't rolled out good.

These are the surfaces that really make the vibration pronounced with the column extended out. As I said, the 2017 had minor vibration in it as well on older, less granulated road surfaces, which could had never been noticed if I hadn't been looking for it. My 2016 now has the same with the column not at the extended end stop on these 'new' asphalt roads.

Luckily my tax money is getting used efficiently on new roads, so I won't complain to much that they are rougher now.

Nice to know but I have driven 19,000 miles at 75mph a lot with all different kinds of experiences an only thing I have noticed is adaptive steering thru the steering wheel on a really windy cross wind. The steering stiffens slightly, don't notice wind pushing the truck aroung much.

Check torque on the bolts connecting the driveshaft to the pinion flange.

Like I said 19,000 miles of driving and countless slowing downs and 0 vibrations. The only thing in the suspension are 5100 rear shocks for bad OEM rear axle handling. Many changed the rear shocks for wheel hop/hop.

Pinion angle, my truck did the same.
Need to measure angles, and I bet you find out they are off.

While the truck is vibrating, carefully put it in neutral to see if the vibration changes.
If it does, then I am sure your pinion angle is off.

Well I learned 2 things, the steering column extended out will amplify every road feel or vibration coming through the steering wheel, and unbalanced tires feel different on these trucks than I'm used to.

After having the tires rebalanced, the issue is 100% gone. Pushing in the steering column reduced the vibration greatly. But now there's no vibration to amplify.

Usually with out of balanced tires, I have steering wheel that shakes left to right. Not with this truck, just a pronounced low frequency vibration that doesn't shake the steering wheel at all, just feels like I have mudders on the truck.

All is good now, except where the asses at the dealership scratched up my wheels pulling the old weights off.

They offered to repaint them, but by who, and how would they match the other wheels. Then would the paint fail and peel?

Discount tire messed up my chrome wheels on my 2012 F150 when putting KO2 tires on them. Replaced them with similar wheels they said were OEM, but were different. These wheels had the Chrome bubbling in 6 months.

I elected to just use touch up paint. Don't trust their color matching or paint quality. You can only see my touch up spots if you're looking for it now.

Verify your tires are in round. Had the same issue and dealer found both rear tires were out of round. Replaced at no charge under warranty.

Default Vibration 2015 SuperCab 4wd

Hi,

I am having the same issue. Low rumble and vibration seems to be coming from center of truck, speeds from 10-50 produces no difference, off-gas, on gas. Very intermittent. Also, get a thump form the rearend when it downshifts, especially at lower speeds. Just purchased this truck with 77,275 miles, had $2600 worth of dealer service performed including turned rotors, new IWE hubs, 4 wheel alignment, and a bunch of maintenance stuff. Dreading calling the dealer but I've had the truck 2 weeks. Otherwise, love it !
