Default Vibration issues while driving

I know that there is already a vibrations conversation. However, take a look here. I did not notice anything when I had the slip yoke out. As you can see, its dry as a bone. I re-lubbed it with that Aerogrease that someone recommended. See anything wrong when I took the before picture? I do not want to say anything because I am not sure if it just me.

It looks like it's not centered. Take some calipers and confirm it to be sure.

Well I'll take a look at that. Take closer look at the splines. Do you see anything abnormal?
I see those splines, or "teeth", that are grinded away, and the teeth around them show some wear

I see what you are talking about. It's at about 7 o'clock. Looks like quite a few got rounded off.

Ok great, that's the response I was hoping for. My next concern. My truck is still under warranty. So, if I took out the drive shaft, and greased it myself with another type of grease, do you think it would void warranty? I hope not, because they kept telling it was the tires and after a road force balance and new set of tires, road forced as well. I still felt it. If the slip yoke looks like that, I'm concerned about the transfer case. I want to show them my pictures so that they have "a valid reason to take out the driveshaft" .

Personally, I think voiding a warranty because you greased a part, that is meant to be greased, with a different kind of lubricant would be REALLY stretching it.

However, it will likely depend on your dealership. Some will say you took it apart so there's no warranty on that piece anymore. Others will be open to what you are saying and look to help you out.

In this case, and in my opinion, I think they are more likely to try and help you out. It's not like you modified anything. Honestly, you may have saved them some time too doing as much as you did.

I think it's worth bringing up with the dealer. If I were in your shoes, I would.

Yeah I'm going to take it in. Thank you for your opinion.
I'll keep yall posted. I hope that this will solve that annoying vibration issue that most can relate to.

You're welcome.

I can relate to the vibration issues as well, even though my truck is 2WD.

Best of luck to you and please update here. I, for one, will be interested to see what they say.

Have you put the drive shaft back on the truck yet? It looks to me like it is machined that way, to ensure the same indexing every time.

I have not taken one off yet to see for myself, but it looks like there should be a wider tooth on the t-case output shaft. This will serve the same as a keyway.

I am curious to hear back.

I did put it back, but I already took it to the dealership yesterday and I'm waiting for their response. I showed them the pictures. I have been complaining to them about the vibrations. I said it be in the drivetrain, somewhere. They did not want to just look at it, even after the tires were road balanced. I was told that they didnt feel anything and its "normal". Fast forward two weeks later, now, dealership is looking at it.
