Default Vibration issues

I have the same problem:
Replaced my stock wheels and tyres with a 17" wheel from method and 285" bf good rich all terrains.

I get vibrations randomly at high speeds usually around 120-140km/h and sometimes its a smooth ride which i find very weird?

Today i tried going even faster and was surprised that there was no vibrations at around 178km/h.

Im confused at why it sometimes vibrates and other times it doesn't

I mean i can live with the vibrations since its not THAT bad, but ofcourse ide prefer driveing without them!
Heres a pic of my truck

I'm just hoping someone on here might have come across the same thing and figured out what it was....
when I changed my wheels I had the same issue. I took it to the dealer and they added more weights after that it was fine.

Could be referring to lead weights to re-balance the wheels.

---

I recall some postings in a Mercedes forum about a set of aftermarket wheels in which the wheels themselves were slightly off center from the hubs when mounted; i.e. the wheels were off center to begin with.

Look at your wheels you'll see on them some little stick on strips. They add weight to counterbalance wheel/tire imperfections so that they turn smoothly.

Also, one thing you should consider about your vibration. You're coming from oem tires that are highway tires made for quiet and smooth riding. Your aftermarket tires are A/T or M/T which has bigger tread blocks and thicker side walls not to mention it's probably a 10 ply tread. It'll communicate a lot more NVH than the OEM tires. That plus if you went from 18" rims to 20" rims you'll add more roughness.

What kind of tires are you running again?

I'm having the tire shop replace the tires with Perilli Scorpion Verde ASP 285/45/22's. While the tires are off the wheels I'm having them make sure the wheels spin true since I found a factory flaw in one of them.

Yeah most if not all AT are 10 ply with a 3 ply side wall. When I hit little bumps in the road the truck vibrates all over. Some dips in the road on the highway causes some sort of jolt. But it's just momentary and after the bump everything is fine.

Is this the vibration you're talking about?
