Vibration at Idle
So, I have a 19 XLT 5.0 and have been experiencing at pulsing vibration at idle. I took it to the dealership and the told they really can't do anything unless I have a check engine light. Has anyone else had this experience?
This is an example of either incompetency or the level at which the shop is allowed to do diagnostics.
It can be Leanness, Richness, or a cylinder issue.
If codes are depended ,on that shop is missing a lot of work and customers are being let down.
Drivability is the first sign, codes the second but they are not all inclusive to the issue.
Dealers have, by virtue of being a dealer, test capability to detect issues if allowed and trained to do so.
Find another 'doctor' and be clear about it.

I am more willing to bet its the VCT system. Ford seems to be buying the lowest quality junk and assembling engines with them. I would rate Made in China better quality then the Cam Phasers Ford uses on the 5.0
I have been chasing this issue for 20,000 miles. Started at 47,000 I am now at 65,000. Dealers refuse to even look at it without a check engine light, Let me tell you when it DOES throw the light hope its not like my truck did.
Only on a friday after 4pm and it would be off before monday. then the next friday like clockwork there it is after 4pm, off again before monday. its done this for 18,000 miles now. since february. After an oil change it will run great for about 5,000miles,
then start the process over again. You will get either p0011, p0012, p0021, p0022 for codes when it does throw the check engine light. 11,12 are passenger side codes 21,22 are drivers side codes. You will get a run around at every single dealer, they do not want to change the phasers at all, unless you are paying out of pocket it seems.

Hi there – send a message to us with your VIN and approximate mileage, along with some more details about your situation. I’ll look into this for you. Thanks!
i had knock at idle and vibration at idle, i often had pinging under load. I fixed this by changing the spark plugs. the plugs from the factory had a gap that was way out of spec. The new ones were gapped correctly, now my truck runs like it should have from the factory.
My VIN is: 1FTEW1E55KFC89150
Miles: Approx. 25,840
Is someone available to call me at: 937-572-2848? This is in regards to the vibration that I fell while the truck is idling, either at an intersection, drive thru or just sitting in Park.
