Unfortunately yes. This is why I opted to go aftermarket vs. the OEM Ford driveshaft. If the bearing goes bad on the aftermarket driveshaft I can replace it.

There's a local drive shaft shop here, they test the drive shaft and can rebalance them and if you need to, they will replace the u-joints as well

Replacing the u-joints I can do that myself I went underneath the truck and the driveshaft has no play at all. Am I wasting my money bringing the drive shaft in to get a rebalance?

I heard these ford drive shaft are not serviceable, is that true?

Does it fell like you are going over rumble strips and is it intermittent?

If so, I had the same thing. Check the spark plugs measurements. I changed the transmission fluid and soak plugs and it completely went away.

Hopefully you figure it out.

I will never understand the point of these AI posts.

Not an AI post. My truck had a vibration that felt like going over the rumble strips (meant to let you know if you are going out of your lane). I researched it here. Some users stated that it could be a transmission issue, since it was occurring during acceleration and randomly while driving at steady speeds. I have a 2016 Ford F-150 2.7l XLT Sport with 130,000 miles. So, I changed the transmission fluid and transmission fluid filter, as well as the spark plugs. The problem went away. I checked the measurements on my spark plugs and they were way off.

Sorry if it seems like a silly or AI generated response, but it worked for me. So I wanted to share to possibly prevent someone from spending an arm and a leg, if unnecessary.

Besides, it doesn't hurt to change the transmission fluid nor replace the spark plugs and it's pennies when compared to some of the other suggestions. If it doesn't work, not much lost. If it does, someone's wallet will thank the.

It doesnt feel like rumble strips. As I mentioned it only happens 65 miles (110km) and over, very noticeable when you decelerate after reaching those speeds. The vibration I feel under me, abit in the steering wheel. I also notice is it in the rear view mirror. Anything under 100km its fine.

I just had something similar. seems like most of these 157" wheelbase trucks with the two-piece drive shaft like to create issues mostly with the Carrier Bearing. I recently had mine pulled and new U Joints put in and balanced. It made it worse and could only think that it made carrier bearing more noticeable. I opted for a new driveshaft because replacing the bearing on my existing one was going to cost more because they needed to cut off and re weld a new one on. A new driveshaft solved my issues. All of my vibrations were felt from 60mph +.

That is exactly my issue, 6.5ft box and my issue is if I take it off and get it balance and maybe replace the u joints replace, the issue may be the carrier bearing that is in the middle. Did you get an OEM driveshaft or after market, if after market do you have the link?

I went with an OEM driveshaft. I ordered it directly from a Ford Parts location.
