Default Vibration

has anyone experienced a vibration as they take off first thing in the morning/day ? Recently as I take off I’m getting a vibration for the first 1/4-1/2 mile. Feels like a gravel road or like those slow down strips in exit ramps. After 1/2 mile it goes away. Nothing has changed on the truck to do this. Weird. Puzzled.

How often do you drive your truck? If it sits for longer periods often the tire can develop flat spots which require a drive to work them out. If the vibration goes away, that may likely be it. However if you drive the truck daily and don’t let it sit for longer periods of time, something else would be the cause.

It gets used every other day or so. Sometimes daily.

Are you 4X4?. If so, throw it in 4A before you move it, and see if all is good. Possibility your TCCM may need to be flashed

Have you checked your tire balance? Or U-Joints?

As mentioned above it sounds kind of like you are getting flat spots on your tires....

I wouldn’t think that I’m getting flat spots on in between days. Truck is 4x4. 26,276 miles shouldn’t need u joints yet. And what is TCCM ?

Possibly the road you take off with, different vehicles act differently. Is it only when truck is cold? or anytime after it's warmed up also?

TCCM, is Transfer Case Control Module. Ford came out with a TSB a bit back, that changed the warmup sequence for the front axle. Might be all you need. I'm not convinced that's the problem, you'd have to see your dealer.

I had this on my 17 screw 3.5 EB.

never had it looked at but always assumed it was something in the drivetrain.

was definitely not a tire or brake issue.
