Default vct silenoids

What was the cost to change your vct solenoids at the dealer?

If the left bank driver side or passenger side?

Left and right are always identified as if you are in the driver seat.

Bank 1 is passenger side.
Bank 2 is driver side.
A is intake and B is exhaust for either bank when refering to cam sensor, solenoid or phaser.

So probably $1200 to do both sides?

For the 15-17 trucks especially, VCT solenoid issues can often be solved with oil flushes and shortening the oil change interval. Seems to be the main culprit behind issues with them. By no means a guarantee and sometimes they simply need replaced but it's an easy and fairly cheap thing to do before swapping them

I would say the 2018-2020 will have far more issues with VCT, The AS/S system wreaks havoc on them since they are oil pressure operated. Every time it dies the pressure is let off, and the phaser returns to retarded position.
so think of it as being hammered at every red light. My 2016 never had any VCT issues. my 2019 started at 38k miles. and finally at 96k I got the dealer to look at it and work on it, being they wont unless the CEL is on and mine would only come on on fridays after 4pm i kid you not.
so with 67 recorded events on ford pass they finally fixed it. still have a stumble on accel but im not sure its VCT related. I no longer have rough idle at red lights or dieing.

Yeah I wasn't saying that the 15-17 have more issues, I was just saying that oil quality is nearly always the cause for the 15-17. I do think it translates to most of the issues you'll find in any gen coyote but yeah the AS/S system is horrible for the phasers. The 18+ stuff is already harder on the phasers thanks to the DI pump
