lol

I went to the Ram forum today and one of the top threads was something like "post in this thread if you haven't had issues" as the title and the body of the post "if you go by forum posts you'd think we are all drivnig POS'

Yeah lol I'm familiar with that general paradox of forums

But in other topics I have also ignored some reported issues and bought anyway under the "things are blown out of proportion online" and then had the problem soooo **** if I know

Nope, I would avoid it all together.
There's gotta be 8 threads on ecoboost start up engine rattle (timing chain)
The new 5.0s also rattle, burn oil

Whats left? 2.7?

Seems to me the 3.0 diesel is the least problematic right now...who knew?

I'm turned off by Ford. If I had to do it all over again I'd get the diesel.
Or a GMC Denali

Funny you say that, I almost put an option C for "steep discount on unsold 2018 diesel platinum lot truck"

Though for all i can tell the diesel might not be any better (or any worse), it's just a tiny sample size comparatively so there aren't nearly as many 3.0 owners posting, regardless of outcome

If had to have a V8, Be a Denali or RAM

I am so glad I got the 17 5.0 with the 6 speed. Wouldn't consider a 18-19 5.0 with the 10 speed.

Go get a Toyota and make ur life easier.

If I had to have a v8, a ram rebel or tundra trd pro would be in the garage

Interesting. Thanks for posting. I hope it's not that they need all those engines as replacements. 10-12 weeks sounds like a pretty big number of engines.

I was planning to order a 5.0 this summer. But have since decided to wait until whatever has been causing the 10-12 delay to get sorted out. Or at least wait until some news breaks on it because I think there is something happening in regard to the 5.0 and it’s issues. I figure the later the build the better. Most of the lot 5.0’s I’ve been looking at have a Nov ‘18 - Jan ‘19 build date. Thats just too close for comfort and I would be absolutely kicking myself if I bought one and experience some of the issues members here have.

Keeping in mind i like my '16 5.0.
Right or wrong, i'm of the school that a truck must have a V8.
But if i were in the market for a new truck today knowing what i know now about the new 5.0s, i'd seriously consider a RAM hemi probably the rebel trim.
Yeah the hemi's have their issues also but at least they don't burn oil to the point it requires a long block replacement.

Speaking of, something I haven't come across yet, what's the quickest/easiest way to look up a truck's build date?
