Default Upgrading to KO2...worth it?

I'm itching for new tires.

I have a 2017 scab XLT 302A 3.5 ECO w/ 3.55 locking rear end...18" wheels.

I can't decide if I want to go stock size ko2 or go up to 275/70 r18.

I know they look awesome but am I going to hate life living with these?

I don't need them...just more of a want. Would be nice in the NH winters...but I don't see a ton of offroading in my future.

How much of a ride impact will I see and how much will each size impact fuel economy?

Been reading on here a lot but still not sure what the right move is.

Thanks all!

In all honesty if you are not going wider and not much taller and not E rated (aka much heavier) then you won’t notice that much of a difference in mileage and ride.
If you go bigger, heavier, stiffer then yes it will be worse.

I have a 2" level and 285/65/20's on my truck. I lost about .5 - 1mpg overall with the speedo reflashed. It was closer to 3-4mpg off before the recal.

I like the tires and how they ride. I don't notice a huge difference with them being E rated and running 40psi in them vs the stock hancooks but that is just me personally, I can't speak for others.

I love the way they look and they worked flawlessly in the snow we had here in N.C. a few weeks back. I've heard a few people say they weren't getting the millage out of them like the older tires so I am going to keep the inflated properly and rotated on time and hope I can get 40-60k out of them!

Not sure if any of that helped you though, lol

The KO2 are E rated in both sizes.

Are you planning on leveling out the front by 2 or 2.5 inches? You have 2wd right? That’s a 33” tire. Might be a little stuffed up front with the stock height.

We didn't buy these trucks for their fuel economy. I lost a couple of MPG going from the stock 20s to raptor 17s with the 315s.

The ride is a bit easier IMHO.

K02s are definitely much more aggressive looking than the stockers. I have yet to test their A/T ability, so no word on that. The Hancooks were crap.

You'll probably have the stockers for a couple of years before you have to replace them, so if you really want new tires, go for it. It's your cash

I put Toyo Open Country AT2's on mine; 275/70R18. I really like the look of them. Yes, they're E rated, so the ride is a bit harsher, but I would say it now rides more like a truck, and that the ride really isn't harsh at all.

Wasn't planning on leveling...but may eventually want to. Folks on this forum say sizing up to the 33" fits no problem. Mine is a 4wd.

Nope. Do some reading. Get snow tires for better winter driving.
