Upgrade Sync 3 to Sync 4?
Unless it's priced reasonably I can't see doing this. IMO SYNC3 is fairly good. It's not bad at least. Certainly better than SYNC2, and possibly better than the Mylink in my old 1SS 1LE. If a SYNC4 upgrade costs 4 figures then I personally would pass.
This guys pretty knowledgeable on sync system he’s working on it

You also have to ship them your old APIM as a core or you get charged even more.
BUT they are the first to offer it, so there is that...
Has anyone used infotainment to upgrade from MyFord touch sync 2 to sync 3? Is it reputable and was the upgrade worth it? Been thinking about upgrading my 2013 eco boost lariat but wasn’t sure if it was worth it.
If I were you, I would (and have) DYI. You could pay $1500 for a kit online or grab everything you need for a couple hundred bucks at a junk yard instead. It's up to you. The least expensive one I ever converted for someone cost $60 CAD

Saskatchewan is the only place in North America I know of where auto salvage yards are owned and operated by the government resulting in dirt cheap parts and auto insurance. It's a formula I wish the rest f the country would adopt, but that's another topic.
You'd also win off the exchange rate if you're in the USA so shop around on sites like SGI.
Come to think of it, I'm working in Regina in two weeks if you need eyes on the ground.

The best writeup on Sync 2 to Sync 3 conversions is on the Ford Fusion Forums, but there's lots of info on this subject all over the web.
Check it out.
