Default Unknown electrical plug

Hey guys, does anyone know what this gray plug is? It is facing opposite / behind of the odb II plug under the steering wheel. Not plugged into anything, is this normal?

I have a TBC. It is a 2015 with a late august build, could they have changed the wiring harness for the trailer backup system for the 2016's early?
