As noted in Post #8 by statikuz, there was a thread about this wrinkled seam.....however, mine was a later build in Dearborn and is almost perfect (look at link, I posted a picture) so perhaps, since there have been far fewer complaints lately, it was addressed in production changes!? As also noted, it might not LOOK good but as long as the sealant covers the entire area, it is functionally alright....I DO think it was an early production thing.....anyone have wrinkles with a later build!?

Out of sight out of mind...it doesnt affect the functioning...unless you want to haggle with the dealer to get some sort of credit for it, just move on

Yep. Mine looks like a hail storm hit the seems. This is the kind of thing that getting it "fixed" has a high likelyhood of screwing something else up.

I'm pretty sure the seam sealer is an automated process.

I'm guessing some are wavy because either the truck wasn't moving consistently on the assembly line (pauses), or the machine wasn't moving consistently, or there was perhaps air in the supply lines of the sealing machine.

Or maybe a combination of all of the above lol. Attachment 569680

Mine was built in Dearborn a month and a half ago. The roof is a little lumpy not as bad as this pic. Even if it was horrible I wouldn't care. It's the roof of a pickup, not the hood of a luxury car. Only time I see it is when I climb in the bed to wash the roof once a week.

I bought mine brand new with 30 miles on it in May 2015, build date of the truck was December 2014 so I would call that one of the latest builds (KCMO factory)... mine is alot worse in that it has popped bubbles all the way down the seam, some on the edge where the seam meets the paint. Pictures in this thread: https://www.f150forum.com/f38/brand-...d-roof-306348/ It was only on my passenger side. Driver side looks good.
