Default Two Tone Paint Options Explained

Here is a quick 101 on the two tones offered. They are somewhat confusing on paper. I had to hunt down some pictures to figure out whether or not to order the two tone. Hopefully this picture gram will help you decide.

First up is the standard two tone for models up to the XLT level. It's a straight across paint job in grey metallic. Bumpers stay chrome.

Next is the two tone offered on the Lariat. This two tone paint job is caribou in color and includes the wheel well trim and both bumpers. Chrome package or not, this is how it comes. Truck shown is a lariat with chrome package.

The final offering is on the King Ranch. This is where it gets interesting. The two tone comes with painted wheel well trim, painted back bumper and painted front bumper cap ends in caribou.

BUT ! ........ if you order the King Ranch with two tone and the chrome package, the bumpers are all chrome which is not the case on the Lariat with chrome package.

Hope that helps you make sense of it all

Dear Ford,

Add magnetic two tone (Bumpers included) to the Lariat and XLT Sports.

That is all.

The chrome package in the KR is hideous IMO. Unless you do a monochromatic scheme with no two-tone.

Very informative. I knew about the different two-tone options but I didn't know the entire bumper on the Lariat two-tone is painted. Nice find.

Thanks to this forum, I prevented getting something I didn't want. I initially wanted a Lariat with 2 tone paint and chrome package. The build site showed chrome bumpers when the truck was configured that way, but I learned that was not the case when looking at actual owner pics here. I ended up ditching the 2 tone paint just before I ordered. The 2 tone trucks are sharp looking, but I didn't want the painted bumpers. I wonder why it's one way on the Lariat and another way on the KR?

I would have gone 2 tone on my Lariat if I could have gotten anything but caribou.

I almost ordered two-tone with my blue jean Lariat until I noticed I could then only get black interior. I wanted the gray interior and am happy with the choice. Black gets too hot here in AZ.

Twotimer,
I am looking at the KR in chrome package, not a fan of the all chrome bumper. Do you know if you can order the painted caps and have them installed or DIY? Thank you for writing this post. when i built KR a few times I thought I was crazy seeing it switch to all chrome. Say a Chrome KR all chrome bumper I thought maybe that the caps were put on after truck detailed...
