Ended up finding out about how to fix my freezing locks/washers, melting 3rd brake light to good floor mats and my lift. Then I got anxiety about my truck from all the crap I see about people having their tucks break down. I ended up leaving for a year or so and it was great, no worry about every sound. Then I got the desire to modify and to see about the new trucks.

site is also quite good for Ford news.

Yup.... our F-150s are the "Cream of the Crap" (stolen from an old Birdseye slogan), as my Daddy used to say......

Yeah I only ever read the threads about builds or mods. Almost never read the ones about issues with trucks unless it has to do with a recall or TSB. Also am always looking at the marketplace board for any cool parts to pop up.

Even the new Tacoma, what used to be the Holy Grail of truck reliability, is much-hated on the forums. A big part of it too is not letting yourself get worked up over every small thing like the world is ending. Looking back on it, my '15 was a great truck, but I was too nitpicky and I let it ruin my experience with it for a few months. The '16 I have now seems great to me, and I think a lot of it is because I don't have some expectation that it has to be 100% perfect since I bought it used. Sure, individual trucks have major problems and those should be fixed, and there are some stupid design flaws that should have been addressed before the trucks were sold. But every vehicle has that...and at the end of the day, all of the F-150s my family has had have never left us stranded - ever. To me that outweighs any little annoyances I may find.

The only regret not finding this website before i bought was i would of found out a Lariat FX4 comes with 4A.
The 4A thing aside, i couldn't be happier with my truck.
I guess things are different between US F150s and Canadian F150s. My 2018 Lariat 502a without FX4 has 4A.

I was all in to buy a F150 after the lease is up on my Tundra, and I thought coming to this site would help me. Instead it has given me doubts about buying one. I still want one, I just have to find one with some warranty left.

My only regret after coming to the site re: my purchase is that I didn't spend more time reading up on negotiating techniques and such before buying.

My only post-purchase regret is that I'm pretty sure I would've been perfectly content with the 4" instrument cluster had I not found out it was such an easy swap. Nor would I have known I needed the BuiltRight bedside storage racks (and probably a whole slew of things if I start looking more closely).

Hypothetically speaking...

Considering every manufacturer "makes mistakes" and lets just say that 1 out of 10 has an issue.

Are you going to hear more issues about the vehicle that sold 100K units or the one that sold half that? Yup, twice as many. There's your two edged sword!!

Here's the scoop boys: I bought my 2015 Ecoboost AFTER reading this, and every other F150, Chevy/GM, Tundra, and Ram forums there are. I'm still a member of all those forums. Yes, bought mine AFTER studying and researching all these forums since 2008, when I bought my 2002 F150 used. Went from Chevy to F150. Plus, compared to especially Tundras, there are many more F150s driving around to have troubles, but still by ratio, it looks to me like Tundras might be one of the most troublesome trucks. And, repairs are expensive compared to F150!! I like all trucks though. And don't bash people for buying what seems to fit them. Only thing I've done to mine is I added one of those high dollar ($350?) oil catch can thingamajigs. I reckon it helps with direct injection only Ecoboosts, but don't really know. I'm also on the Ecoboost forum. Two old boys there have over 330,000, and 600,000 miles on their stock 2011, first year, 3.5 Ecoboost engines! Regular maintenance is all...

That's because FX4 has nothing to do with the drive train! LOL 4A is standard in Lariat and up trims regardless of what option packages are installed. Used to be FX4 was it's own trim line, now its just a package that adds skid plates, a button and crappy front shocks, oh and a sticker.
