Default Two batteries and starters?

Does my 2019 F150 3.5 eco have two batteries because it has the automatic start/stop?

Does the *** use an additional starter, like is there a separate starter for that system?

It should have come from the factory with an AGM battery. Just one, as indicated. And yet, A-S-S is hard on the starter, even though Ford claims they have tested it.

Thanks for the info. Someone told me my truck had two batteries and I was doubtful.

Yes, I find it very hard to believe the *** doesn’t significantly reduce starter life so I usually push the button to deactivate unless I know I will not move for more than a few minutes.

Maybe they meant there are 2 different batteries it might have depending on engine or something? Or maybe that person's cousins brother knows someone that used to work at a shop, so they were just taking an educated guess off something they might have heard once. Lol.

There *are* ***-equipped vehicles that have two batteries - usually a standard AGM/LA for a main battery and a lithium chemistry (li-ion, etc.) to assist with starting. But the F150 isn't such a vehicle.

Maybe the F150 battery is bigger or rated higher than those in some smaller cars with this feature so they figure it should be good with it. You could put a battery switch and an additional battery in the bed. Then run either battery 1, battery 2, or both like some boats have. Shouldn't be too hard to setup.

It's a little more complicated in the BMS-equipped F150. To do so, you need to kill the BMS - either disconnect the current sensor or turn it off in Forscan. Otherwise, the battery SoC gets totally screwed up and the truck doesn't know what to do with the alternator.
