Tuning the Two.7
that is great but what are the current gains I can expect to see if if I were to purchase a Tune/Tuner from LMS for my 2.7L? And which tune will produce those gains, is it the 93 performance tune?
All of the performance gains that we advertise are going to be utilizing our 93 octane performance tuning, unless otherwise stated. For example, if there are additional tune required parts installed on that vehicle or a tune that requires additional modification. All of those things do get spelled out clearly.
Check out my thread on 2.7mpg. 30mpg is doable - ppl are doing it.
I bought the truck because I need a truck. I bought the 2.7 because I wanted good power & good mpg.
I pulled 25 mpg going 75 on a 700 mile trip this weekend. Got 29 mpg when I slowed to 65. Granted I live in Illinois where there are no hills. But I did it.
I don't buy into the macho bull ****. If I wanted a race car I'd have bought a mustang. Real people spend real money to get the best of both.
I have power when I need it & good economy when I want it

the EPA tested the truck in the highway cycle (~62mph , no elevation, no wind) and it got the 26mpg it is rated at. Now you are telling that with a performance tune you are beating their mpg by a solid 10%+ going the same speed in real world driving?
dont get me wrong - I love my 2.7 and it does get the 26mpg on the highway if you go in low to mid 60s.... if you go even slower, even better mpgs. I would be the last one to bash 2.7 EB performance... but 29mpg going 65mph is not feasable unless you coast downhill or have significant tailwind

Running ethanol or none, 2wd or 4wd? You'll easily pickup 2mpg running none ethanol and 2wd adds a couple more over 4wd. I was running 65-70mph when I averaged 30.7mpg. My truck just hit 3600miles and from what I read during research the 2.7 doesn't really breakin until around 5000 miles. I'll post an update after I hit that mark.

Downhill and strong tailwind would explain the difference
