I loaded a canned tune until I get my custom tunes and my remote start no longer works. I had read on here that you have to hit the off button as soon as the tune has loaded. I reloaded my tune and hit the off button within three seconds and it still is not working. Is anyone else having this issue? Tuner is an SCT X4. Thanks in advance.

 

I would pull the battery cable or make sure there aren’t any DTC’s preventing the remote start from working.

 

I scanned it and there weren’t any codes. Also disconnected the battery and still no remote start. I emailed SCT and hope to hear back on Monday.

 

Same thing happened to my brother's 16 mustang. After getting a custom tune, his remote start no longer worked. IIRC, the tune affected the timing or something like that. My bro never followed up. He didn't care too much for the remote start. Let's see what SCT has to say.

For this unfamiliar with your vehicle, what year/engine etc & which "canned" tune do you have? The one directly from SCT?

Also, curious if you've flashed back to stock and the remote-start works again?

2015 5.0, SCT pre-loaded canned tune. Works fine when flashed back to stock.

 

I spoke with SCT, it’s something on their end. They have had several calls/emails about the same issue and are currently working on a solution.

 

Get an Omega tune rather than the SCT canned tune and load it on your device and you will be fine as well as enjoying the Omega tune that is far better than the canned one.
