^^^ Yap, a few square inches of film works great, and is easily reversible.

Does everyone order direct from diode dynamics when getting these?

I ordered my SL1s and SLFs through stage 3, had items in stock while DD indicated inventory wouldn’t be available for weeks.

If you feel like doing some reading and learning something, read this page on Daniel Stern's website. I found THESE, but I don't know what size will fit the Ford factory housing, or can be modified to fit. I have considered going the painting method as described on DS' website, but would rather just swap them out and be done with it. Thanks!
Another option:
If you have the OEM halogen fogs you can easily modify a 9011 bulb to fit. 4300k color temp and 2400 lumen. bulbs are around $10-$20 depending where you buy. Modification of the bulb requires trimming one of the locking tabs and removing the notch in the bulbs connector.

Film (aka filters) on LED's will block all wavelengths except yellow and effectively reduce total light output. But they do look cool.

I bought these yellow LED bulbs in June 2017, have used them everyday as my daytime running lights (configured through Forscan), and they still look and run great, no flicker.

Do these require trimming a tab or do they drop right in?

Thank you...Id like to shake your hand and buy you a drink!
There are so few people on this forum who truly understand what a fog light is and how it works...or is supposed to work.

I had PIAAs in my old truck which were great!

Now I have a 2018 Lariat with clear LED "fogs" which will be essentially useless in fog or snow drifting conditions.

Not sure what my options are now either.
