Troubleshooting Help!!
I just ended up buying a used 2018 Ford F150 Lariat and boy is it a nice truck but man some of the features do not work. Like at first when I bought it I didn't think it had any running boards on it but upon looking around it does in fact have the amp research power deploy boards but they do not work at all. Did some snooping around under the dash and under the hood and found that under the hood the fuse was removed, replaced it with a 20amp fuse, go to open the door, nothing. Thought to myself it the fuse blew already, it didn't and was still getting voltage out of the harness. So dug into the dash and found that the obd2 connector was unplugged from the obd2 port. I attached the plug back to the main obd2 and boy did my dash light up like a Christmas tree, throwing errors and codes all over, yanked it out and all the errors and codes disappeared. Looked at the plug couldn't see anything wrong with either of the 2 wires coming into the plug. I popped the protective cap off the plug and the circuit board was pretty much fried and severely corroded like it was dipped into some water and then instantly plugged right back in. Any way, is there somewhere where I can get just a replacement plug for the amp controller?
Now onto my second issue. The tailgate. My key fob for the truck has the buttons on it that indicates that I can do a automatic release of the tailgate from the fob but when I press the buttons, nothing works at all. The tailgate doesn't drop and it doesn't even sound like anything on the inside of the tailgate is moving or making any noise? The only thing that does happen is the truck is recognizing the command to release and drop the tailgate but nothing happens from there on out? I have plugged my obd2 scanner in and did a full diagnoses on the entire truck and no errors returned for the trucks tailgate at all? Also I have checked the vehicle settings menu and it doesn't show any option to toggle this on or off. So I'm just wondering what I need to do to bring that function back to life as well.
Also does anyone know a work around to the my key (child lock) to the trucks system? I only have 1 key and my secondary and third key are not coming in until December 1st and I can not keep driving the truck no more than 60 mph......... IT'S ANNOYING THE HELL OUTTA ME LOL. But in all seriousness idk why the key I have was literally set to only allow the truck to go 60mph but I need to go faster and it's making me avoid highway driving until its undone!!
I think that's all I got for now. Thanks to anyone that can help

1. Here you go mang.

2. Not sure, my poor man model only has power lock on the tailgate, no fancy drop it automatically with the fob setup. Pop the inner panel and check for loose or corroded connection or broken wires or someting.
3. I don't think you can disable the MyKey stuff until you have the additional keys, I believe. I know from the 2 seconds of Google Fu I did, you'll need the Admin key, so yeah, I'm not sure mang.

Does your OBD2 scanner communicate with the BCM? If not there are likely DTCs that your current scanner does not see, especially after knowing that your running board controller had issues. Does the tailgate open using the button on the tailgate? If nor, it is likely the actuator inside the gate that has quit working. It is either a wiring issue (most likely at the tailgate connection) or the actuator solenid has failed (a common problem).
With one key you can't do anything to reprogam your key. You can't program the new keys either. Only a Ford dealer or certified locksmith with the software can program those new keys.

Look up Forscan, seems you'll need the diagnostic powers. I disabled the MyKey bull&&@t with Forscan, and you can look into PIDs and other diagnostic tools to further your descent into the fantastic world of Ford truck repairs.
Man this truck has been a pain in the *** to get all the wrongs with it to being right again.
Also update I bought the new plug for the steps. Installed and put the fuse and and the boards lights are working just fine, but no deployment. Had a hunch that the motors were bad to begin with so those are on order now and waiting to come in.
Tailgate came to find out the original owner must have damaged the auto dropping tailgate and replaced it with a non auto dropping tailgate so that solved that problem also.
