Lightbulb Can we talk about the Bang & Olufsen sound system in 2018 F150s

WOW. I was blown away by it. I had a 2014 FX4 with sony "Premium" sound system and that was one of the worse "premium" OEM sound systems ever. I even did a mod where you open the plastic sub-woofer box and stuff in pillowcase feathers to make the bass deeper.

Anyways back to my 2018, As soon as I connected my bluetooth and played some tunes, I was impressed by the clarity of the sound and the deep bass. Normally I turn the bass all the way up on OEM sound systems but this one I only turned it half to 3/4 ways up.

All in all, Kudos to Ford for stepping up their sound game in these new trucks.

Also there is no subwoofer under the rear seat, so if the seats are folded up, the entire floor is open.

I can't compare to the Sony but I had a 2015 XLT 302a package and the B&O sounds amazing compared to that. I'm a musician and find the sound to be very satisfying.

I have heard that the B&O is awesome compared to the Sony system. I can't wait to hear it

Looking forward to trying it in my 2018 Platinum I just ordered. I read somewhere that the B&O system is 750 watts (I think Sony was 550?). Not that wattage is the be all and end all of sound quality. Funny that Ford doesn't list that spec anymore.

I briefly had a truck with the Sony in it and now have the B&O in my '18. The B&O is much better. More bass is available and I feel there is more range to both the treble and midrange. Seems to be a good update.

I'm not sure about the wattage. But when I saw there was no sub under the rear seat, I was confused and thought why the premium sound system wouldn't have a sub lol

Woofer is behind the seat like the 2015 -2017s not in the floor like the earlier trucks.

Does anyone who's listened to both know how the '13-'14 Sony system compares to the '17 XLT 302a Sync 3 system?

I currently have the Sony (can't really complain, I guess it's OK) but am looking at '17s now.

I can only compare our new '18 B&O to our '13 Edge Sony - the B&O is definitely clearer. Haven't played with the Sound controls much yet, but so far, I'm really glad I added it to the order. I added it mostly due to the fact that you couldn't get HD without it - which I only found out after they had put the truck in the order system! I did ask that they only add it at invoice, which they honored... :-)

Wonder how it compares to the Kicker system. My 16 Sony is OK. What is odd, some songs sound great, others muddy.
