My 2011 F-150 3.5L EcoBoost w/ 3.55 gears was about 195 degrees, and took about half an hour of highway driving to get there. Warmest I ever saw it was ~225 degrees, climbing Mt. Equinox in VT. Not exactly Pikes Peak or Mt. Evans, and makes me wonder how hot it can get on a climb like that.
My 2016 F-150 3.5L EcoBoost w/ 3.31 gears is about the same, and takes forever to get up to temp. Maybe 45-60 minutes or so.

This kind of makes me wonder... I've read in many places here that the truck doesn't get the best fuel efficiency until the truck engine is warmed up. But what constitutes warmed up? With the 2011, the RPM's decreased a little bit around 104 degrees. But is warmed up based on coolant temp, which takes about 5 minutes to hit 200 degrees, or based on transmission temp, or something else.

I'm curious to this as well. I have a lariat and one day the temperature numbers appeared above my engine temp. It was a warm day and I heard the electric cooling fan turn on. Once the fan stopped the numbers disappeared. Not sure if it's a glitch in the system or not.

think the numbers only appear when the get above a certain temp. Perhaps when you need to start paying attention to it?

I have an XLT 302a and there is a transmission temp gauge on the dash and you can see the temperature as a number under the "Display" menu. I think I've read before that the lariats and platinums don't show the temp digitally. It seems strange that the fancier truck wouldn't show it.

Ok. I read this thread a while ago and I've looked. but I don't have any digital temperature readout. Just the green red gauge on my 2015 Lariat. 2.7L. I'll admit I'm a dummy if you tell me what I'm missing.

My scangauge is saying 122*C. I have a 5.0, 3.31 Lariat. My coolant hovers around 93*C.
