Default Transmission slow? Low fluid?

I have 2500 miles on the truck. Seems like it's slow to shift from Park to Drive and Reverse to Drive. Is it just my impatience or maybe the fluid level is low? I feel like I have to get on the throttle to make it move right away. With 420 lb/ft of torque I don't think I should have to give it throttle. I should be on the brakes when I'm shifting because the truck should want to move right away. What do you think?

I am not trying to be a jerk here, but can't you check it really quickly?

I've noticed the shift from reverse to drive has always been very slow in mine. All my other vehicles the shift transition has always taken about one second, but my 2015 takes about 2-3 seconds. The shift from drive to reverse is probably a little over one second.

The procedure sucks big hairy donkey ....
(well you get the idea).

The picture also doesn't show the exhaust pipe that runs right below that side of the transmission.

Mine doesn't take unusually long. I don't know if there is a mechanical connection between the shift lever and the transmission or if it's all electronically controlled. I say that because I noticed when shifting from park to reverse the back up lights, rearview camera, and parking sensors all turn on at the exact same time the transmission engages reverse gear, which has about a 1 second delay. Also my Dad has a Ford Ranger and it's always been slow transitioning between reverse and drive. But it's 20 years old with over 138,000 miles(odometer broke about 8 years ago) and still going so nothing to worry about. Maybe a Ford thing.
